Sam plummeted/fell/crashed to the ground with a loud/sharp/painful thud/sound/crash.

Sam's New Friend

Sam was feeling a little sad. He wanted to have a new buddy to play with. One day, while he was exploring in the park, he saw something unusual. It was a little animal with glowing fur. Sam carefully approached the creature and asked, "Hello! What's your name?" The creature laughed and answered Sam, "My name is Lily!" And so, Sam made a new mate. They spent the rest of the day talking together.

Sam was so happy to have found a new friend. He knew that he and Lily would be close buddies forever.
